Summer is drawing to an end.
I've been feeling a lot of mixed emotions these past several days, and have spent a lot of my time contemplating situations that have risen. Where to begin?
University? Ah, first year university.. I'm excited about it, then again, being separated from most of my friends is sad. =(
Moving? Yes, I'm moving to Brampton this September. I'm definitely going to miss living in Toronto and being near my friends. (I must keep in contact with them! For sure!)
Luckily, I have work in Toronto, so I'll be able to visit them whenever I go there. =) Wow, I'm going to be commuting from three places this year - Brampton (new home), Mississauga (school) and Toronto (friends and work).
What else have I been thinking about? - Love. That's for sure. I've been thinking about that a lot these days. I'm really confused by it. Hmm, I'll save that for another entry... it'll probably be a long one in fact. I need some time to organize my thoughts anyway. |

..a long awaited entry is typed.
These past couples of weeks have been FUN.. and TIRING! XD
Let's list some things I did:
- May 26th - Friend's Debut Very memorable ;)
- May 27th - ANIME NORTH DAY 2 Woo-hoo! KOTOKO Concert (front row.. yesss! ^^), the Masquerade (I missed the hot YAOI KISS T.T), and lest we forget.. DDR!!! (I enjoyed it very much :D)
- May 28th - ANIME NORTH DAY 3 J-ROCK Concert <3 ('Twas awesome Front row again! Woo-hoo!)
Gah~ Let's just stick with those dates because they were the FUN ones! The tiring ones were the days filled with assignments and projects... blah.
Note: I said Anime North day 2 and 3 because I missed the first day on the 26th. But that's okay because I had a REALLY GREAT TIME at the party! :D |

16th Annual Toronto Lesbian and Gay Film and Video Festival

It was my first time going there, so I was pretty excited and anxious to see what it was all about.
My friends and I watched a tagalog film called...
The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros (Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros)
Like any good diva, 12-year-old Maxi has a killer wardrobe, a hip-swivelling walk and a smile that lights up a room. Living on the outskirts of Manila with his outlaw father and two older brothers, Maxi dutifully cares for his family; cooking, cleaning and fussing over everyone. But life does hold a little glamour as well - shopping excursions and impromptu beauty pageants staged with his friends brighten his daily routine.
When Maxi is beaten up by some kids in the neighbourhood, he is rescued by his new neighbour Victor and his life takes a drastic turn. Smitten with the handsome policeman, Maxi begins to feel pulled between the petty-thief family that he loves and the crush he has developed on Victor. The cop is more bemused by Maximo´s attention than anything, but the situation is further complicated when Victor angers the family by encouraging Maxi to aspire to a better life.
With its vibrant cinematography and vast emotional scope, director Aureaus Solito expertly juxtaposes the sweetly naïve feelings of first love with the harsh reality of poverty and crime in Manila´s slums.

We wandered about, filming downtown Toronto for a while because we had a Religion project about consumerism due soon and wanted to film people on the streets coming out from ritzy stores. Haha.
After that we headed towards the KOREAN BARBEQUE restaurant!!!
*Ahem*
No words could possibly convey my happiness. No amount of CAPITAL LETTERS or exclamation marks!!! could tell you how I feel about this. This restaurant is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! All you can eat! *Drools* In this restaurant you could take raw food and then cook it for yourself. In the center of the table, there was a grill to cook it. I know. It sounds like a chore, eh? But it's so cool!!!

Ah, my friend was right. It is better than Mandarin! Hopefully, I can go there again soon. So delicious! :)

| Lessons to be learned |

The Ten Commandments was on television yesterday and today.
I've grown up watching the older version, but this new version was done pretty well I suppose. They both had different interpretations of how the story had been and focused on different aspects too. The older version focused more on Moses' life as an Egyptian Prince, while the newer version focused primarily on the trials Moses' (or His) people went through.
You could say this movie helped me reaffirm my faith.
Seems like there are a lot of lessons to be learned in life... |
